I'd say Carrie is more vocally talented. However, Christina does come more to mind when that phrase is mentioned simply because she has been called that more, despite how much I disagree with it.

Technically, I'd say Christina is a better vocalist but I mean.. there's really nobody like her she's the only one in her tier. I don't think it's bad that Carrie is among the second tier of vocalists along side Kelly, Beyonce and Whitney Houston.

Whitney was great by I find her highly overrated.

I just Google image searched "Carrie Underwood and Christina Aguilera" and that is the only picture of them "together" that come up, so that is what I used. It was hard to find a decent gif of Carrie singing live (there aren't many gifs of her in general, it seems) and the Christina gif is an ATRL staple.

I personally wouldn't brand either of 'em a title of that magnitude. Carrie Underwood has an INCREDIBLY HUGE voice, the voice Christina believes she has. All in all, I think Christina's done some pretty damn PHENOMENAL things with her voice that Carrie has yet to do. For instance, Christina has near coloratura agility with melisma. She explores different vocal registers whereas Carrie is confined to only one. Christina has shown the ability to use Chest, Head, and Whistle register whereas Carrie has only ever used Chest. She uses Falsetto but that's a disconnected register.

Christina can hit high notes, low notes, and sustain notes as well as sing with different inflections and vocal techniques. Carrie is not a diverse singer. So Christina in my honest opinion is far more deserving of the title seeing as she has a multi-faceted voice.

I will say that Carrie has an absolutely AMAZING voice. At this point, Carrie's voice is in much better shape than Christina. And Carrie from A4-C#5 destroys practically EVERYBODY. Very few can supplant Carrie in the mid belts. She's almost as great as Whitney in middle Belting. Carrie has a very Whitney-ish instrument and because of that her potential is immense. She can definitely transition into one of the greats, but she's got a while to go.

Anyway, Christina Aguilera. Her voice is phenomenal. She may not be able to use it in a technically sound matter, but the fact still remains that she has THE voice that can do things that most could only dream of. So she is definitely deserving of the title.

First off, Beyonce is NEVER on the same level with Kelly and Whitney in terms of the voice alone. She ain't got it like that. Secondly, how is Christina Aguilera ever in her life above Whitney THE VOICE Houston?
