in 2015 it's getting incredibly hard to create a song that doesn't sound like another one that already exists, particularly when you're not reaching for the stars creatively (I Bet is great but it's not groundbreaking / wasn't meant to be)
I stand by my point; so many people try so hard to create something 'new' or 'fresh' and either end up making a mess or something that sounds like another song regardless. If the blueprint for a great song is already laid out, I have no problem with an artist utilizing it, adding their own distinct sound and making it their own however they can. Especially if the music harkens back to the golden age of 90s R&B.
