Can't bathrooms be just singular? One toilet and sink?

Mess I knew someone was gonna go there. If the trans people don't feel comfortable using whichever bathroom they identify with then I don't see what else they are supposed to do other than hold it?

But trans people aren't stopped from going into these bathrooms, they can use them if they wanted to.

She isn't saying she wants TRANS bathrooms, she's saying she thinks there should be separate bathrooms for GENDER NEUTRAL people which is when people don't feel either male or female. Ffs.

Gender neutral bathrooms would be a good idea, but that's too costly and it would take forever just to get them to become a norm nation wide. I feel for them, but ultimately, which bathroom you use is about anatomy, not gender identification

Adding an extra neutral bathroom seems too costly and unrealistic. We should change the culture and attitudes towards Trans people instead so they can go to the bathroom of their gender.. or maybe just have single bathrooms because the Trans community is a small population

I don't see what's wrong with agendered bathrooms. With my city's laws, a male-to-female pre-operation trans person would, for example, be forced to use the men's bathroom. By using the female bathroom, that trans person could be fined up to $500 and be labeled a sex offender. Though the law clearly needs to change, we could easily bypass it just by fixing the sign or making the bathroom signs a "suggestion" rather than absolute law.

You could literally just change the sign, though, and make a bathroom a gender neutral bathroom. They wouldn't need any new bathrooms at all.

There's no way to tell if a trans in a restroom is pre-op or just a cross-dresser, so this idea is the best solution. There is a restroom for males, and one for females; and there should be one for all those who are in between. There is no reason for a cross-dressing bisexual man, like the one at that Planet Fitness, to be in a woman's restroom/lockeroom. End of story. Unfortunately, for those trans that have gotten operations, it only takes one sick cross-dresser to ruin it for everyone else. And it already happened a few years ago when a cross-dressing man was caught in a female locker-room exposing his genitals to high school girls.

Nobody says that trans people aren't allowed in bathrooms. They are.

So a trans man who identifies as woman but is still straight and doesn't want an operation should be allowed to be in a women's restroom or locker-room with women and girls? That's basically a male with a wig in a women's restroom. How smart does that sound? Let's stop putting all trans people under the same umbrella. Don't assume all trans people are gay and had operations.

That's beside the point... there will never be a day when any significant amount of facilities will add an extra bathroom. It's just not going to happen and standing around talking about it won't make it exist.
