I'm defensive at the fact that someone feels offended by the fact that a man choose to discuss his personal life the way he sees fit. I understand why they do what they do, looking from the outside. I'm not in their position, but it's not unreasonable to understand why it was hard for them to come out to the public considering their status.

No, I don't see him being wrong for avoiding the question because it's HIS choice. It's his life to tell, not yours or mines. Considering that it's still taboo to have a GAY BLACK entertainer is all the more reason why I give him the benefit of the doubt and won't shame him (which is why I do not understand why people keep on saying that "well, str8 people can say how many girlfriends they have. Why not gays?", as if it's the fault of the gays and not the industry or the standard in which one is held). His inner circle is very much aware of his sexuality, which is why he says that there is 'no closet.'

And who cares about the PR angle? It doesn't change the way he came out or that he's a gay male.

What exactly do you want? I'm asking because I sincerely would like to know. What exactly do those of you who hate Adam, Sam, Jussie, etc. want in a gay musician? These are human beings here, they're not perfect.

Jussie should be able to come out however he wants. If he feels like he wants to keep his private life private and coming out shouldn't be a big newsworthy event then let him live his truth.

The fact of the matter is he's a celeb, and regardless of the "way" he did it, it would have made headlines because of the character he plays on TV. If he had just left it without comment, some pics of him and his man would surface one day and yall would be the FIRST to call him out for being "closeted" and another "dl gay black man". There's already a lot of talk about him being gay, having nudes, etc. A 3rd party quote that he was gay made national news. I'm sure he probably just wanted to take control of the situation before the media had the chance to run wild, so decided to do this interview as an official statement. Leave the man alone and let him enjoy his success.
