It took months and months of skips but How You Get the Girl has finally grown on me. Still badly produced and my second least favorite on the album after Bad Blood but so catchy.

It's actually the best song on 1989 along with Bad Blood, Shake It Off and Wonderland. Flawless, summery production combined with simple, catchy lyrics. Genius song.

But how's that possible Wonderland peaked at like 0.73 of Uptown Funk whereas New Romantics got released two wks later, when UF and TOL started decreasing and yet failed to match 0.5 of UF?

Let's not talk about how Wonderland had promo in the 'Hot New Tracks' section and was the FIRST song released. While New Romantics was released last with NO promo on the front page.
Let's get into THAT.

Wasn't New Romantics the most anticipated deluxe track from 1989?
Wasn't New Romantics supposed to DESTROY all of its competition once it gets released?
Wasn't New Romantics promoted by Taylor on her Twitter?
And what about the Eurovision rule "Save the best for last"? It's obvious the later, the better.

What makes it different than any other pop song released nowadays?

It's pretty safe to call it a pop phenomenon.

1989 is her "Thriller". Red is "Bad"
