Again, the girls (especially pop girls) come in waves. The GP is tired and wants a break until the next "wave". Meghan and Ariana, who everyone keeps tossing around here as the latest exceptions to that rule are slow burners, similarly to Rihanna, who have yet to expand their aesthetic and prove themselves (or not) in coming years. It's just too early to tell for the two of them. They each have cons stacked against them and pros in their favor, explained further below.

Olivia is better grouped with the other big popstars from the 70s (Donna Summer, Linda Ronstadt, Diana Ross, Cher...). Her country fame, Grease and most of her hits come from that decade, even if the monster success of "Physical" make it seems like she was an 80s girl. She was the top female artist of the 70s in the US, as far as singles are concerned.

You're right about Olivia being a 70s singles artist, I'll change that.
FKA, Jhene, and Tinashe may be considered "indie nobodys" (your words not mine) but I was making the point about waves/trends, and a ton of music publications said those three at the time represented the beginning of an underground R&B trend for females that could have transcended into the mainstream but never did, IMO. That got a lot of press at that time and I think it still matters, IMO.
I couldn't make my mind up about Ariana, Meghan, and Pop Taylor which is what I said in my previous conversation.
Meghan I don't see as part of any wave (yet) but an anomaly who surprised a lot of people with the album units she shifted. She
is just presenting a sunny version of the throwback R&B Amy Winehouse did back in '06, so unless an expansion of the aesthetic is coming down the pike I don't she how she can expand that into a fully fledged career catalog that similarly delivers on sales or tour tickets.
Ariana wisely laid the groundwork with cross-genre influential collaborators for her 3-single punch on her latest that made serious impact, but the less-than-expected album units shifted were pummeled on this forum and she has to overcome what appears to be a massive PR backlash on top of that, on multiple fronts.
Meghan seems to be the ONE prop-up for a drowning Epic, which is worrying, and Ariana has to still overcome the remnants of a 'cute' image, personal squabbles, and Mariah comparisons to chart the long course UMG clearly has in mind for her. Hence why neither can be considered to have truly "emerged" yet.
Given that Ariana did a similar 180 from her Victorious-soundtrack to her current Pop&B incarnation like Miley (though more gradual) from Hannah Montana to her "We Can't Stop" image, the Disney/Nick machines were their start-ups, they had different trajectories from the dance-pop wave, and their latest records represented a career transition in aesthetic/image/sound, they're going with the late 00's teen-pop wave.
Taylor charted her own course in country before crossing over around the same time as Katy/Gaga in the '08 wave. Carly similarly charted her own course in Canada before hitting it big at the tail-end of the dance-pop wave. Call Me Maybe is teen-pop throwback, but her career trajectory is more in the vein of the dance-pop wave. For those reasons, I'm including Taylor and Carly in the '08 dance-pop wave.
Meghan is still an outlier IMO, but could possibly be included with Ella Henderson for another throwback soul wave, but she definitely doesn't go with the dance-pop/teen-pop waves. I'm including her there anyways, as she charted her own songwriting career in similar fashion to many of the other girls in that category like Jessie J. That may change.
