No one said anything about the VMAs. MTV does not own a trademark on that phrase. This is just an abstract "Video of the Year" category, and those two videos are of a different year.
So a writer for MTV, which every August/September gives out an award called Video of the Year, says:
Quote:
How about we just go ahead and give Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You” video the award for Video of the Year right now because it is pretty epic.
And it's obviously a generic "best video of 2015" and not a reference to the VMAs?? Okay...
I don't know how because the video is terrible. Tom is doing poor lipping and very odd in it and some reason reminded me of Robin Williams which was depressing. Only good part was the I'm pregnant gaffe
I just read this thread why are some pop girl fans fuming, and saying our faves didn't use tom hanks for attention, well most of our faves used smth that Carly didn't use for attention "NUDITY,SEX AN SHOCK FACTOR"
That song is one of the worst releases this year. It isn't catchy, and the insane repeat of really making work Bitch a lyrical masterpiece. The video can't save it. (If it does, the GP is retarded).
I agree it's bad, but it worked for Call Me Maybe.
