I'm reading the books but does each season match up to a book? Like season 1 = first book, season 2 = 2nd book?

They all do other than the third and fourth seasons which both follow A Storm of Swords

Season 1 = AGOT
Season 2 = ACOK
Season 3 = ASOS Part 1
Season 4 = ASOS Part 2
Season 5 = AFFC/ADWD(Since they take place at the same time chronologically)

And if GRRM is still doing 7 books:
Season 6 = TWOW
Season 7 = ADOS

They are already going into book 6this season, Martin already confirmed some characters still alive in the books are gonna die this season

I know they are, but for the most part they stick to the correct timeline.

Just like how they went into the beginning of A Feast For Crows/A Dance With Dragons in season 4 yet it was still mostly based off of A Storm of Swords.

I've read that as well and actually it would make much more sense, we don't NEED Cat back but someone with that crazy revenge, who better than Sansa who witnessed her father die and got tortured and now is a player in the game. The crew destroyed the Vale set so she's no longer going back there, she'll be traveling along the Riverlands.... possibly meet with the Brotherhood Without Banners and she is the one who orders the Freys dead, though I don't know what would happen if she does meet Brienne and Podrick.... she would recognize Podrick, I'm not sure about Brienne since I don't think they ever really met, just maybe saw saw each other at the Purple Wedding in the TV show.
