There's nothing shameful about being on welfare. Only scumbags would make jokes about that.

I think so. Both of my parents are retired and work part time. My mom has insurance under the Affordable Care Act and my dad is on Medicare since he just turned 65. Since I'm healthy and don't regularly go to the doctor, my dad realized it would be more cost effective for me to have my own insurance and go on Medicaid. I pay almost nothing for it and I don't use it. So it works out.

We are a fairly well off family, and I don't feel bad about using Medicaid. There is no reason to shame people for using welfare benefits.
