MTV calls 'I Really Like You' the Video Of The Year!
Quote:
How about we just go ahead and give Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You” video the award for Video of the Year right now because it is pretty epic.
I mean, Tom Hanks, walking around New York City, singing (kind of out of sync) Carly’s song , making “Forest Gump” references and dancing with Justin Bieber, this is just too much amazingness for my brain to handle.
The video is cute, but I feel like everyone is overreacting on how "catchy" this song is... It's not even half as catchy as CMM and I don't see it being a hit, 1.5M in the USA at BEST, 2.5M WW.
I guess since Wrecking Ball and Chandelier made an impact for being a simplistic video. But Sia and Miley don't need cameos from Tom and Justin to get a relevant hit again.
I love Carly, but they relied too much on Tom for the video.
The video is boring as **** in my opinion. And I don't find the song catchy at all, I find it generic and annoying. Songs like This Kiss, Tonight I'm getting over you or Curiosity were even catchier IMO.
That song is one of the worst releases this year. It isn't catchy, and the insane repeat of really making work Bitch a lyrical masterpiece. The video can't save it. (If it does, the GP is retarded).
