Recording artist Duffy pledges to help fund $10K reward for missing Long Beach dog
A Grammy-winning recording artist is contributing to a Long Beach woman’s $10,000 reward for the return of her missing pit bull, named Moqui.
“I saw it on Instagram, and I thought ‘Oh my gosh, this is so painful,” singer Duffy said in a telephone interview.
Duffy, who called from London, has also posted a picture of the missing dog on her Instagram account, @iamduffyinstagrams, with the words “missing” and “#findmoqui.” Several images of Moqui have been shared on Instagram, and Duffy said she learned of the dog’s plight after a friend tagged her in a message.
“I was in disbelief that someone from the UK heard about it and felt so touched by it,” said Moqui’s owner, Monique Hayward of Long Beach.
Duffy won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for her 2008 release, “Rockferry.”
