Until you listen to the whole album, you only have an uneducated opinion.

Stronger is her second best album behind the iconic Breakaway but her singles have gone down in quality for sure. Her streak of hits from Breakaway is kind of unparalleled honestly

I wouldn't say that. Kelly's earlier work was a bit formulaic & the later albums began embodying her true identity more & more. Catch My Breath explains it perfectly. Pop/Rock definitely suits Kelly well but Kelly's a ridiculously versatile artist. She isn't confined to just one sound, and Piece By Piece is the perfect demonstration of that. I believe Piece by Piece is probably her best one yet. Somehow I get the "this is goodbye" feel from it.

Anyway, everything was quality level on this album. So that alone neutralizes the idea that her music has downgraded. At least for me anyway. Kelly's known for her exceptional vocal talent and empowering anthems, and I think PBP gives us that. That being said, I couldn't ask for more. I'm thoroughly impressed with the album. Far more versatile, daring and vocally innovative than the others.

Those 4 are my least favourite. I understand how you've developed the opinion you have. But know that it's inconclusive seeing as you've measured the overall quality of an entire album by 4 songs.

I recommend Bad Reputation, Invincible, Nostalgic, Run Run Run, & In The Blue.

Yeah, she hasn't really released any classics since Breakaway.

I actually completely agree with what this thread is saying.

I think it might be because I hold Kelly to a higher standard then other pop artists because I know she's capable of greatest. She has one of, if not the best, voices in the industry, and she proved with Wrapped in Red that she can deliver quality albums and has deliver some original.

I think it might be her label idk,, but I completely agree that the past three albums have seemed like complete retreads sonically and thematically. There hasn't been any artistic progression since My December.

Idk. Maybe a new label would help. I'm not sure. All I know is that I was immensely disappointed with Piece By Piece. I though River might inspire her songwriting, but it seems like leftovers from Stronger tbh, which at least had some killer singles to prop up the era.

I would've loved to see her tackle soul, or RnB or folk on this album and twisted it. It doesn't have to come down to Pop/Rock or Pop. She could've played with so many other genres on this album.

Well I think for me its the people involved with the creation of the music can be minorly to be blamed for any kind of "decay". Personally I'm not much of a fan of Greg Kurstin's work as its good but the melodies he creates are not as stellar as songs Max Martin has been putting out.

Kelly herself is doing her job well, providing outstanding vocals and nice lyricfs, to me it really comes down to the instrumentals and melodies, those over time from her albums have slightly declined. But Kelly herself has not devolved

I think so and I say this as a huge fan. She and P!nk need to stop with the same formula. They are amazing lyricists too

Her latest album is disappointing, so yes. Wrapped in Red was actually a pleasant surprised though.
