Which debut you feel bigger?
Britney with Baby One More Time or Gaga with The Fame and The Fame Monster?

It won't be fair to compare sales, but The Fame had a much more consistent singles run than ...Baby One More Time.

I'm going with Gaga all things considered but Britney's debut was HUGE

And that's only because she debuted at the peak of album sales.

The Fame Monster produced at least 6 worldwide smashes (I'm not counting LG but that was big too, #1 on Pop radio) and 4 massive music videos, the highest-grossing debut tour of all time and the 2nd biggest-selling album of the last 7 years + it won countless awards including 5 Grammy Awards and 11 VMAs. It also got better reviews. Britney was MASSIVE but it always had more to do with her as a celebrity than her material.

Which makes Britney debut not impressive especially compare to other debuts of that time that had major awards and success outside of album sales

Britney! "BOMT" (the song) alone makes her debut one of, if not the, biggest and most memorable debuts of all-time.

It's useless to compare album sales from the late '90s to album sales in the late 2000s. Makes no sense. Both were huge but I'll go with Britney. One of the biggest debuts and peaks in music history.
