So when Julie Andrews hugged Lady Gaga at the Dolby Theater, everyone’s favorite onscreen nun was not only patting the performer on the back for a job well done and a song well sung. Rather, she was passing the torch from one generation to the next, a sign to viewers young and old that the hills will always be alive with the sound of music that we all love so dearly.
When something becomes popular enough, people will jump on the bandwagon. Then the people will justify their bandwagoning by raising the critical acclaim to an undeserved level. eg. Taylor Swift.
