Well now that she's clarified what she meant, she's right. We've discussed this on atrl several times. White actors have played other ethnicities before which leaves fewer roles for minorities in Hollywood. It's no secret most roles are for whites.

You can't make new superheroes in the original sense. They will flop. Superheroes only exist today as tradition and throwback. Our society has evolved since. The new super hero is more like the anti hero, like Katiness Everdene and the girl from kickass. They are far more mortal, and human and much less virtuous.

They might as well reform marvel to be more diverse because any new character is going to be a non factor, white, Asian or black.

I'm not sure if you've never read the comics or you missed this, but that was the point of all of these stories. They were everyday people who turned in to something greater while struggling with personal battles. The only difference is the level of depth/universe. Katniss is no different than the superheroes of that time.

You are totally right about the last part, though. There's basically no hope for any new superheros unless they're like anime/manga. We'd be better off focusing on getting black-lead animation films (shout out to Home) than trying to launch a superhero, especially one of color
