Ant and Dec pocket £15MILLION for US version of hit ITV show Saturday Night Takeaway
Lady Gaga, Katie Perry and One *Direction are already looking likely to appear on the show, described as the most exciting variety TV format since the 1970s.
An NBC source said: “There hasn’t been a show like it in America, for four decades. It has all the ingredients that will entertain America.” Harris called the show a “game changer”, adding: “Nothing like this has been done before.”
The show, whose US name has yet to be revealed, is a triumphant US comeback for Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 39. Instead, Ant and Dec will be executive producers leaving Oscars 2015 host Neil Patrick Harris to take the reigns.
Popular comedy duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly - better known collectively as Ant and Dec - are the presenters of this hybrid comedy-game show. The programme features a number of large-scale stunts and comedy sketches, in addition to pranks and practical jokes that are performed on members.
