Edwardsville High teacher accused of having sex with student

KSDK -- A health teacher at Edwardsville High School is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.
On Tuesday an Edwardsville Police Department High School Resource Officer was notified by an administrator at the school of possible illegal conduct by a teacher involving a male student.
An investigation revealed that 37-year-old Kasey Johnes of Glen Carbon, Illinois had a sexual relationship with a student who is now 18 years old. According to police, Johnes confessed to the allegations as did the student. The alleged sex took place at Johnes' Glen Carbon home over the course of about five months.
Johnes was arrested today at the police department and transferred to the Madison County Jail. Her bond is $100,000. She is being charged with one count of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
