They're not going to get it still. Even some Americans don't get it
I think its hard for a lot of english people, race issues are no where near as prominent in the media here as they are in the US, you have people like Wendy talking about being down with the swirl etc. when generally UK tv talk show hosts wouldn't ever ask someone's race preference or mention that they're dating someone of a different colour. I'm not being ignorant and saying its not in the media but it's definitely far more prominent in the US.
