He thanks his father for not going down that path. That might be the part that ruffled you girl's panties. You all don't know his reasoning behind it. Looking back I'm happy that i too didn't turn out super fem either. I've seen the way those guys were treated growing up in school and in public and it's horrible. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. That's not to say I hated those guys. If anything I respected them for being who they wanted no matter what. In the meantime I was happy it wasn't me because that meant I could skate under the radar. Did anyone ever think that this was his views on it.
Then he goes on to say that its gave him a unique quality that people think he has. How is that wrong? How many of you in the Looking thread aren't fawning over how masculine he is week after week?

Oh, the casual homophobia. Cute!
Why are people ignoring what he actually said?

"I feel like I could have been really effeminate, if I hadn't gone to the school I went to. Where I felt like I had to toughen up. If I'd have been able to to relax, prance around, and sing in the street, I might be a different person now. I thank my dad for that, for not allowing me to go down that path."

He's literally saying he's thankful he's not femme.
Why's it so hard to see the issue with that? And his inclusion of "prancing around and singing in the street" comes straight from the book of homophobia. That's how homophobes see gay men and he's saying he's thankful he's not like all those other gays.
You don't even have to spin what he said to find an issue with it.
