She's the best mother ever. Her children must feel so protected and safe by her wings.

Parents can only know so far, all those factors aren't written on stone and most of times the specialists will pinpoint them only when there is already an addiction installed. Madonna knows that considering her own life path and the reality of her family now, her kids shouldn't be forbidden to take risks because it will contribute to ignite the interest. And she's not preaching about it being the 'best way' to prevent drug use, her children lead a healthy lifestyle, she get them into sports, arts, fine education and now, free-thinking.

Because there's something called destiny, probably?

hmmmm. I like the notion that she's being real like that...especially when it comes to things like alcohol and weed, its just reality that most kids start drinking underage nowadays.

But at the same time, I do think its kinda bad to not tell your children to stay away from things like cocaine, acid, meth, etc.....that stuff can destroy your life.

I'm sure she does but ultimately is their decision

This is exactly the reason why no parent should give their kids any reason to do drugs. Parents have no idea if their kid has a high risk of becoming an addict. Why even encourage it and risk having your kid becoming an addict.

So because they're not written in stone, it's fine if parents tell their kids it's ok to do drugs? I guess since getting infected with HIV when having unprotected sex with an HIV person is not set in stone too, it's ok for parents to tell their kids it's fine to go around sleeping with HIV positive people.

Studies show that kids whose parents show a positive attitude towards drug use are more likely to also have the same positive attitude and use.

Addiction is passed on genetically. If your dad was an alcoholic, there is a risk you'll become an alcoholic. Same if you have an uncle or aunt. Madonna's brother is a homeless drug addict, so the gene is in the family. What I am saying is that giving this type of advise to a family that has the gene is very risky. It's simply irresponsible.

I'm a psychology major, in all the reading I've done so far, I've yet to hear a professional give this type of advise.--because it's idiotic.

What!? Are you saying I'm making it up? The American Medical Association (you know, the association that oversees medical schools in the US) officially declared addiction a disease back in 1987.

Addiction is a not a disease, at least for most people. lol

Let the medical psychiatrists around the world know that Elusive Chanteuse declares addiction is not a disease and that they are all wrong.
