Mess. The only people who support the Spotify boycott are the ones who haven't used it consistently enough to enjoy its features. This boycott is only supporting exclusivity and removing the community experience that makes streaming of any kind so great. As long as you're getting paid adequately (which I agree needs to be addressed), instant accessibility is a great thing. The whole collecting of CDs/Vinyls/cassettes/etc thing of the past was "magical" but there's no reason to linger there other than for the sentiment and nostalgia. Streamlining digital media also reduces physical waste across the board. It's a win-win.

Things were so different back then with the cassettes and all that. I understand she feels like is crazy.
But streamin is the future and we will just have to accept it.
Streaming itself is a good thing but the services should be paying much much better.
A recording artist should be able to live off the record. And I don't talk about superstars, but about every artist. I also hate the touring argument, cause not everyone is a toruing artist (for various reasons) and not every kind of music is suited for big ass concerts.
When a record is considered as mere promo for a tour something is definitely wrong.
I'm tired of artist making up these artist-sentimental excuses about Spotify because they are afraid they will lose sales.

First, I bought "Style" because I COULD NOT FIND IT on YouTube, SoundCloud or anywhere.
Music should be paid for. I would never rely on streaming or use it. People don't understand that the internet as a whole may be unstoppable but local outages are common. With my music on my hard drive, I can listen when I'm on my computer, internet or not. With my music on the flash drive on my iPhone, I can listen to music when I'm out with my phone.
Since I own physical and digital versions of my music, I can make discs to play on old stereos or in cars without Bluetooth auxiliary jacks.
I'm sure if more people join Spotify that they'll be able to command more money for ads, thus being able to pay more to artists.
Also, for those of you who think an artist should take the losses of album revenue nicely because of tours, think again. Not every artist can tour. Even if they can who's to say they'll make any substantial money? And finally why should they need to tour to make money for an album they made because they didn't make money off of the album? That's whack

It annoys me when people go all twinkly eyed and nostalgic about physical CDs. They're really bad for the environment, so it's actually really good that they're being used less and less
But tbh I would youtube stream it or some other way and then determine if i wanna buy it or not
