Rooney Mara says Dragon Tattoo sequel probably won’t happen

The prospect of a sequel to Sony’s English-language version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo appears to be dead in the water, with Rooney Mara confirming that a second film looks unlikely.
"I don’t think it’s going to happen,” Mara told E! Online. “I’m sad never to do it again, but it just doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards.”
A new book in the series is coming out in August, so hopefully if the sales for that are good, Sony might take another look. I'm surprised. I thought Dragon Tattoo did well enough on VOD/BLU/DVD that they wouldn't hesitate making a sequel, but it looks like they're not too enthused.

These don't usually work, but maybe if they see enough people are interested, they'll start a Kickstarter campaign or something.
