No. The dress being blue in real life has nothing to do with the picture.
You know because of how the camera captures light. The screen is simply there to interpret the most accurate colors possible from what the camera has captured.
You can head on to Anandtech or Gsmarena...It is a fact that apple devices have the most accurate colors.
it confirmed what you were thinking...but at that point in time when the dress was the only photo...it still could have gone either way just by how we want to
i'm used to seeing white objects appear blue than a blue object seem to look white...so of course i will say it's white with a shadow effect
One time, I was in the womb and I had never seen light or the color white or any other color at all, so I couldn't tell you what color anything was.
Your point that others don't have access to the original photo is irrelevant-- we have the knowledge so we understand what is happening.
Direct samples of the image prove that it's a light blue color.
Previous knowledge of the actual color of the dress proves that the image itself is black and blue with messed up lighting & exposure issues.
The black in the image APPEARS gold in a direct sample, and the blue still appears BLUE in a direct sample.
A single photo, with all other evidence cut out, does not change the fact that it is a particular color.
I saw blue and black at first sight I didn't change opinions like everyone else, I don't get that
I saw white and gold, then I moved, screamed at the video of a girl crying on Twitter because she didn't understand the debate and was convinced everyone was trolling her, and all I've seen since is blue/black. Few people saw blue then white.

The first stripe at the top (the biggest one on the neck) is definitely gold, the bottom ones kind of look black at times because of lighting but there is no way the top one is black
I see white and gold in the OP but the other pic going around (posted on Buzzfeed) I see blue and black. but some people are seeing the opposite... what a mess.
