it's like getting a picture of a cup half filled with juice and someones asks if it's half full or half empty...if it was poured then it's half full...if someone was drinking out of it, then half empty...of course there is only one answer but it's all about perception

I actually do not see white/gold at all on my Samsung. It's my laptop that wants to **** with me.

That is the mistake you guys are making.

but the original picture is heavily altered and people are seeing what's obviously gold as black in THAT particular picture. The color of the original dress doesn't even matter in this case.

That is the mistake you guys are making.

I didn't deny that the dress in reality may be black and blue. My argument is, due to whatever factors or camera tricks, they made it appear different colors OTHER than black or blue - now what different colors you see is another debate. (although I know you're keen on saying it's blue instead of white).

the owner posted a picture of the dress (posted a few pages back) and she confirmed that the dress is blue and black irl

The group of girls that started this debate confirmed that they saw the dress in person, so we know it's actually blue.

when you look at those tables IN THE PICTURE...you will see it as being bluish

People are stating it's black because they understand how lighting works. They're not perceiving the gold color as black-- they know it appears to be an actual gold color, but they understand using previous knowledge that it's black with lighting & exposure issues that cause it to directly appear gold.

Actually, you should see white and gold on apple devices. White on apple devices have warmer hue and samsaung is colder bluish hue.
