Discussion: Scrobbling question

Hey so I just downloaded last.fm and I'm gonna start using the scrobble thingy I downloaded installed all the plugins and necessities but when I click "open itunes" in the scrobbler desktop application nothing happens. So I manually open iTunes while the scrobbler is running in the background.

Will that still count as scrobbles? None of the ones I've played so far have shown up

Yeah, 'open iTunes' doesn't work.

What I do is open last.fm FIRST, iTunes can't already be open. Then open iTunes, and close out last.fm (it'll remain open in the background) and everything scrobbles.

But for some reason everyday it stops working I guess 'cause I close my laptop, so before I start listening each day I have to open the Task Manager and end iTunes + last.fm, and re-open them.

If you go to your profile while listening to music and it's not showing 'listening now', it's not working.

No they won't count. If you've gotten the most recent iTunes update then your scrobbler won't be working since they haven't updated last.fm yet

However in the last.fm thread there is a link to the most recent version of iTunes that does work with the scrobbler and you can download and install it and then it will work

My plays haven't scrobbled since February 7, it's so annoying.

And remember not to update it when prompted so in iTunes, because the update version has scrobbling issue.
