First, I didn't know that organizing a charity concert was for your own benefit but ok
Second, it's not like Noel asked for tickets.
It seems pretty clear that musically speaking Ed is not his cup of tea (that's why Noel gave the tickets to his daughter) but that doesn't mean he can't recognize that Ed is a good person.
Just so you know, Noel RARELY backtrack his comments (and even more rarely praise someone), so if he does it, that's because he really thinks he's a good lad.
It's all good for Ed in the end because being praised by Noel can only be good for your reputation
