I'll say hi and smile back. I like when people do this. Even if you're just sitting at the airport or something looking around and you lock eyes with someone and you both give a little smile. I think stuff like that is nice

Wow at all of you experiencing this... Never happened to me before. The ' hi ' thing...

I mean yeah, some people did stop me and ask for a direction, people from my building say hello / I say hello and not so long ago a girl begged me to escort her home cause she thought someone was following her but yeah that's about it, strangers don't say hi to me.

I remember being at the mall and this really cute marine opened the door for me, and then he said "hi, you're cute" and asked for my number... I gave him a fake one because I was scared

Since I'm a nice person, I say hi back or smile back and keep it moving. It's really nice when that happens, tbh.

if someone seems genuinely nice I usually smile back and say hey

if they're some creeper dude hitting on me I tend to ignore them

depends on the person. this only happened to me with creepy old men before tho.

Smile back and say hello Being nice never hurt anyone. I find it weird for you guys to feel awkward when someone does this to you... It's called good manners and smiling at someone can make their day better. I like when people smile at me, I think it's polite and nice.
