I'm not even done yet but this is one of my favorite Kelly albums already, I love it
She REALLY delivered with this album. It's cohesive, yet diverse. She's trying new things, the production is innovative and interesting, and its FRESH. It doesn't have the clear radio made structure as AIEW had, it doesn't have as many duds as Stronger, etc.
I'll post something else when I'm finished but this album is FANTASTIC.
Take You High - I ****ing KNEW IT I knew this would be my absolute favorite off the album even before I heard it. Those angelic vocals, that euphoric buildup leading to that AS#%H64FW7=t52&^%@%@gsSY&@ chorus Jesus my soul literally left my body when I heard that. Agree 100% with the person who said it has some Tove Lo influence in it - it's somehow similar to Habits (Hippie Sabotage Remix), only that Take You High is way more unconventional and innovative. I REALLY want this to be the third single in summer, it could be a career defining song

It would be a hit or miss on radio. It's so goddamn edgy. I love when her background vocals take over in the belts at the end like in "Gone".
I seriously like to come into the base ONCE and not see people bitching about success. I get it, you want it for Kelly, I want it too. But good ****ing God. Just enjoy the music for once!
On the other hand though, once she gets her voice back in tip top mid-Stronger shape:
Her performances are going to be amazing. That, I honestly feel, contributed to the success of her singles.
And this era is going to be exciting to see how the GP responds to her album. Especially since this era won't be cut so short. Poor I Forgive You.
Honestly I was scared her vocals would be kinda rough on this album after HBS and her saying how she recorded it when she was pregnant but they're FANTASTIC Better than Stronger overall IMO.
Some of the songs may be hit or miss but that's mostly dependent on her promoting those songs.
I'm not worried about her single choices this era. Looks like she's got plenty that can work an earworm on radio.
So unlike Stronger where there was only maybe 3-4 standout tracks and the rest were just mediocre filler.
Invincible and RRR are kinda like that too.
