Adele is to step down from writing new songs to star in an episode of Ugly Betty.

The Grammy Award-winning singer will appear as herself in next month's show, 'In The Stars', which is to air in the US during May.

Reports say the episode will see her performing at a photoshoot "that culminates into a surprise wedding."

Adele is currently writing material for her second album, due to arrive before this year ends.
