i think a big part of why h failed in the US is A) Racism and B) he did not give the public what they wanted...they wanted shirtless selfies, videos...after they saw that body in "Down" he stopped showing his body..he got all "modest" and annoying lol SHOW US UR DAMN BODY WHEN WE WANT IT OK?!

No, it's not. There's a difference between "household name" and "15 minutes of fame". Jay Sean had a #1 hit that got played on the radio a lot. "Household name" means old white people in North Dakota who live under a rock know who you are.

And knowing the song =/= knowing the artist.

He released the same song 3 times! Down, Do You Remember and 2012 are basically the same song. He has a lot of good music, but he ruined it trying to be a pop/dance star.
