Puerto Rico to implement Gender Equality in schools
Puerto Rico will now teach about gender equality and sexual orientation in schools thanks to the secretary of education Radael Roman.
Rafael Roman argued that the curriculum is based on a simple and common principle for society : "Our commitment is to help raise awareness among students and the country of all beings
" The only way to achieve change is bringing the message of fairness , equality of opportunity, access , which is to avoid discrimination"
No, it means that they will teach about sexual orientation. It just gets called gender equality.
Sexual orientation and gender equality are two separate issues. I don't understand this quote:
"Our commitment is to help raise awareness among students and the country of all beings. The only way to achieve change is bringing the message of fairness , equality of opportunity, access , which is to avoid discrimination"
Many people here on the island are heavily against this because they don't know what it means. I heard two old women talking on the train about how "they were now going to teach kids how to put condoms on and about gay sex in schools." AFAIK, they're just going to teach gender equality. If you're a girl and you want to be a firefighter, you CAN do it.
