You can't be serious. Especially about Leona. Whether you like her or not, Leona is going to be pumping out commercial albums for at least the next 10 years. Probably much longer. That's what happens when you sell close to 7 million copies of your debut album worldwide.
When a marketable, young, pretty, mainstream girl sells that much first time out, it would take an act of god for the industry to give up on her. Even if she only sold half as much with her next album, she would still get the royal treatment for a 3rd album and 4th album.
Look at all these heffas still in the game, that haven't even sold anything close to Leona. They keep getting chance, after chance, after chance, just in hope that lighting will finally strike (like it did for Rhianna, who was mostly seen as a singles artist, till her 3rd album sold crazy numbers and made her a megastar). Amerie doesn't sell albums, but she's gonna keep on getting chances, but she's got the image and marketability....they'll keep trying with this chick till she blows up. It'll be at least another 5 years before the industry totally gives up on her, by which time she'll have had a recording career of close to 15 years (she dropped her first album in 2001), which I'd call prolific. People may call her "Keri Flopson", but Keri Hilson ain't going anywhere either. She'll keep getting chances till either she blows up, or stops looking sexy in a leotard. ****, people are still letting Christina Milian record albums, and they gotta know by now that she's never going to blow up. She doesn't sell albums, but somehow she's made 4 in the past 9 years.
Leona isn't going anywhere. Frankly, if Alexandra only sells half as much as Leona (which is probably a given), she isn't going anywhere either. I actually expect Alexandra to probably sell more copies of her first album in Europe alone, than Christina Milian has sold in her entire career.
