I had a hall moniter era, but didn't like the fit. Felt like menial work.
We should be thankful, though, for the members who are natural helpers and don't mind going above and beyond—especially these days, because the moderator presence is seriously lacking.
My only peeve is that it can look like a lowkey competetion on who can be the most helpful to snatch that spot. It's the easy route, imo, when there are other, less simple, yet more rewarding ways to prove your potential and get the most out of your time here.
i don't really care that much but the people who go to huge lengths to report anything that even slightly breaks the technical wording of the rules even if it didn't harm anyone or anything are really annoying. that's related right?
