Did Emma Roberts ruin American Horror Story?
I'm rewatching S1-3 on Netflix right now and Season 1 and 2 are very different compared to
Coven
so did Emma Roberts ruin AHS?

They didn't change story-lines and tones just for an actor to fit into their role.
If anyone ruined it, it's the writers.

I wouldn't say she ruined it. Can't put all the weight on here. I don't think she a good actress and I think she was a waste to the series as a whole.

Madison Montgomery was one of the highlights in Coven, and Maggie was the only character in Freakshow that had actual progression, so no.

If anything that Evan Peters thing did. He was only good in Season 1 and semi decent in Season 2.
