2014 fell so hard because the lack of new successful releases was the problem. Frozen was literally the only album the entire year to cross Platinum until 1989's release. 1989 was basically THE only big album in 2014, aside Frozen.
2015 has 1989, 50 Shades of Grey, Drake (he's releasing another ACTUAL album this year, too), Rihanna, Kanye, Lil Wayne, Adele (possibly), Biebs, Bruno, Kendrick, Meghan Trainor, etc and rumors of Gaga, Katy, Miley, and more in studio recording new material this year.
