Well she did start the trend for over-the-top spectacles during performances. Before her, it was all about dressing a certain way and gaining as much "Regular" appeal as normal.

People were adventurous and weird before Gaga. She's the first person you think about cause that was what her whole persona was built on.

They must have forgotten that lady gaga was influenced by other artists such as madonna, david bowie etc

Hmmm Gaga didn't start the current crop of pop music. In fact people were weird before. Michael Jackson and Madonna were first. Gaga was normal when she got popular and got so weird people stopped using her.
