Not really, not when gay youths are four times more likely to be driven to suicide than their straight peers and are subject to being rejected by their own families and being made homeless for being gay. LGB people also comprise 20% of all documented hate crime victims, whereas ethnic minorites comprise about 50%, despite making up a much larger subset of the country's population. Obviously there's probably a reporting bias at play there, but let's not pretend non-whites are the only group subject to hate crimes.
And to answer your question about antigay persecution throughout history, you should probably read up on
this, for starters. Starts getting pretty juicy around the sixth century.
Anyway. As I said. This shouldn't be a competition. Stop trying to make it one.
