I think that with Anaconda it was her highest peaking single and it did get a lot of people talking about her (including Bang Bang which was big at the time), however though Anaconda as a hit was nowhere near bigger than Super Bass and Starships in terms of sales, radio play and longevity. Globally it was pretty much as big as Pound the Alarm (in terms of its chart performance or peak position whatever).

Anyway I don’t think Nicki’s debut was her peak, it was either early 2012 (Grammys, Starships, Turn Me On, Superbowl with Madonna ect) or around August/September last year with Anaconda (as a viral hit) and all those performances she did

Paula Abdul.

BTW was not Gaga's peak. TF+M was so, so much bigger than BTW
Sis "Anaconda" hasn't even hit 2M copies yet. It was at 1.3M copies in December 2014 and has terrible catalog sales. "Bang Bang" was a bigger hit.

SuperBass and Starships both sold more than twice as much in the U.S. as Anaconda sold WW. Nicki definitely peaked with her first album, though she's still very successful.

Nicki's biggest album sales were her debut era, but her popularity and single success are much bigger her second and now third era. She may not have had a singular SB/Starships type smash this era, but she's had multiple Top 15 charting singles with Bang Bang, Anaconda, Only, and now soon Truffle Butter.


TNISY, Hey Mama, and Get on Your Knees are also coming. One, if not all, is bound to be a hit. They're also much more commercial than her current urban singles.
