it's a bit of that "tears of a clown when no one's around" syndrome, they need levity to soften the sting of their leftover 2013 wounds. their "ironic" and lighthearted/playful gaga jokes/memes paint a façade that they're over/unaffected by their otherwise cruel reality. it's just a way to cope for them I guess.
