I don't know about others than iTunes that offers this as I just use iTunes, but if you use something that has the same feature, just vote "yes"
I like to add lyrics to some songs in iTunes so I can easily find them when I listen to the song on my phone. Then I don't have to google it or go find the CD booklet to check to make sure if I wonder what the lyrics are. I don't add for all songs, but like for iamamiwhoami who I barely understand at times ( ) I like to add them. Or when there's songs I wanna learn the lyrics to if I have trouble with some of the words.
I once added the lyrics to Porcelain's older songs, but it didn't feel very useful, I know how to look at them when I listen to the songs, but I didn't find it very helpful It's an interesting feature, though.
How is that messy? You don't see them unless you want to
