Discussion: Is How I Met Your Mother the driest sitcom ever?

I never understood why people loved How I Met Your Mother its a 2nd rate Friends I only watched it a few times cause I love Alyson Hannigan and ofc the Britney episodes

I always found that show to be robotic. It won't stand the test of time though, people have already forgotten it.

Yes. I only seen a few bc they air on Nick @ Nite. It seems like winter: dry, useless, and stupid.

There are certain highlights of the show. The Bro Code and Barney's catchphrases were always funny.....

What I loathed about the show was that it was always trying too hard. Like, everything was a gimmick and it had to be a 'thing', like the 'bro code', 'slapsgiving' or w/e. So damn irritating and insufferable

I agree except Big Bang Theory isn't that bad. It's a good show for its audience..who are Nerds.

I watched it in 2013 on Netflix and loved it, then I watched the final season when it premiered and it was one of the worst things I have ever watched on television and the series finale was trash.
Now it plays on Nick @ Nite at around 5:30-6:00 am while I'm getting ready for school and it is irritating me SOOO much.
HIMYM is the kind of show you can watch once but after that it becomes the most annoying thing ever

It's a less than mediocre Friends. I never understood any appeal for it. I'd rather dry heave for a week straight then watch an episode

I'm not even close to being a nerd yet I enjoy TBBT a lot.

HIMYM was my favorite show once, but I discovered Friends after and I couldn't help but notice that it was heavily inspired by it.
But still I loved it and I'm planning on rewatching it again.
