Well, of course, Kanye West isn't going to be taken seriously in the fashion industry. It is sad though because it is clearly something he is very passionate it about, but I strongly believe that the fact that he is a black man (do not mention the race card to me, don't even try it) and his outspokenness probably has hurt him a lot.
However, he is doing what he loves and I don't understand why people try to tear him down for that reason. Say you don't like his clothes, but don't say "Kanye should know his place" or "Kanye's should just be a rapper."
Stop trying to box people in and let them do what they want to do. If it isn't illegal and isn't hurting you mentally or physically, let these people be and allow them to chase their dreams..

Kanye, himself, said in that one interview with The Breakfast Club that he basically wants to do fashion because he wants to prove that, as a black guy, he can do it as good as a white guy.
Nobody pulled the race card here except Kanye himself which isn't very surprising actually.
Kanye himself needs to accept the damn fact that he's not a God, he's not Jesus and that he can't do/have everything that he wants in life.
And no, it's not about chasing your dreams, **** if it was that easy then 90% of ATRL would've been popstars by now, ****** or good ones, wouldn't matter.

Sometimes you just lack the talents, I'd love to be a great director like, for example David Lynch, but that doesn't mean that I can actually be David 2.0 though.
Sometimes you just have to accept that fact and Kanye is unable to do that because he has people around him who constantly tell him that he can do everything he wants while in reality he can't.
It takes a long ass time to graduate for a fashion student and it's NOT an easy road so for Kanye to just put out a line at NYFW without any skills or talent in design just shows that he gets where he wants because of his fame and money.
It's that simple and it's just sad for young people who really want to get into this business but are ignored because of ego maniacs like Kanye who 'WANT TO SHOW THEIR PASSION'.
Fashion is not a playground, everybody has their own lane, he needs to stay in his.
+ You'll probably say that I'm being racist or something stupid but let's be honest you don't see John Galliano, Marc Jacobs, D&G,... making an album, right?
Exactly.
