Last Summer a few of my friends graduated from CSM and a couple of them made the graduation fashion show, their designs surpass that hot mess Kanye just deposited on NYFW in all areas! They devoted years of their lives to their collections and it showed, they have real passion for design and they're not on an ego trip chasing kudos.

It's true though, he's not a designer, the only reason why he's trying to do this is to make his point clear that 'black guys are allowed in the fashion industry.'

It's not about the clothes, it's all about his ego.

And he probably doesn't even know how to sew properly which is something that even the biggest designers can.
He lacks the talent and by doing this, he's actually doing the exact opposite of what he's trying to do/say.
He's just showing people that money can get you everywhere but that doesn't mean it's actually good.

Sometimes you just lack the talents, I'd love to be a great director like, for example David Lynch, but that doesn't mean that I can actually be David 2.0 though.
Sometimes you just have to accept that fact and Kanye is unable to do that because he has people around him who constantly tell him that he can do everything he wants while in reality he can't.
It takes a long ass time to graduate for a fashion student and it's NOT an easy road so for Kanye to just put out a line at NYFW without any skills or talent in design just shows that he gets where he wants because of his fame and money.
It's that simple and it's just sad for young people who really want to get into this business but are ignored because of ego maniacs like Kanye who 'WANT TO SHOW THEIR PASSION'.

His clothes arent horrible but there is an amateurish quality to how they are cut, hemmed and paired with other articles. Some of the skirts are nice but the outfits themselves are a mess. I know he has the passion for it but the stuff he puts on the runway doesnt seem like its on the level of say Gareth Pugh or even McQueen. Its stuff that would be seem at local fashion show rather than the shows he's currently booking. He should do collabs with other designers. Maybe that could elevate and improve the approach to fashion he is aiming for.
