Yep. Also a good way to confirm they're real is to ask them to take a selfie with your name written on a piece of paper. Tell them you'll do the same with their name to prove you're real. If they get defensive, just say "I'm just being smart." We all have smartphones with working cameras, so if they come up with excuses like "I can't find a piece of paper/pen" or "my cameras not working" then they're fake. It's so easy to weed out the fakes now.
They could still be lying tho. What makes you sure they still won't try to rob you?

I'd never do this though, if they are fake they'd know I was legit and they'd be able to use the pic + I'd feel even more unsafe.
There is a group in Russia that does this but with older men instead. They make them lose their jobs and post it on the internet just because they are gay. Sad.
