Literally 90%+ of the films made every year by Hollywood have straight white men as the leads. Brokeback Mountain is the most successful/acclaimed/relevant romance with a same sex relationship at its focus ever (and even then, there is more straight sex than gay sex in that film). Literally all the blockbuster romances, from Titanic to Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves to Ghost to anything you can think of, star straight people and get 1000x (literally) more attention than 99.99% of gay-related films.

That's because something like 99.5% of the world is straight. So 99.5% of movies are made for straight people.

This is an illogical statement. A movie isn't made for straight people just because it includes straight people. That's reducing an entire human being down to their sexuality, as if there's nothing more complex about a person than who they stick their dick in.

He has a point TBH... These days, in terms of the arts/design, people get away with being mediocre or even outright ****** if they have a positive agenda to back it up.

That said, his film was **** and the aforementioned issue is not the reason he flopped.
