Critics drag anything that is pure pop, that's why most of the pop stars rarely get high scores, Gaga is kind of an exception and The Lord too but she was more country leaning pop than anything.
The album is good, it has its lows but the GP seems to enjoy it if they bought the single and bothered to buy the album as well.
Probably because most of the lyrics are laughable, the production is lackluster, and it's an abandonment of music as an art form. But that's just my guess.
