On civil unions:
Chile became the latest country to recognize gay couples yesterday when its Congress passed a law that has been in the works for years. It will recognize foreign marriages as civil unions, but this law is one of the best I've come across so visitors need not fret so much.
On marriage:
There is both a marriage bill and marriage lawsuit pending. The gay couples said that if the President keeps her campaign promise of passing marriage, they will drop the suit. President Bachelet in Spring has to tell the Inter-American Court Of Human Rights what she wants to do with the case: continue fighting against couples or drop the country's defense against the suit. C'mon girl, keep that campaign promise
