Yes they're horrible events but it's always really local things that don't get picked up by any major outlets and have no wide effect, and the threads aren't framed in the context of a larger issue (for example, if a thread about a man who attacks his wife is talked about as being part of a larger culture of violence against women). It's just horrific, traumatizing incident + "RIP to the victims" and a gif of Oprah crying. Enough.

Again. Like I suggested before, there two pinned threads ATRL desperately needs:
1) Verified Celebrity Tweets - unless they warrant their own thread for further discussion, all celeb tweets should be posted in that singular thread in Celebria. A mod is able to use their best judgement to decide when a specific tweet will lead to a healthy discussion o rot. Users create celeb tweet threads at their own risk of closure.
2) Shocking World News - any shocking events that happened in the world should be posted in the that thread. NO ONE / advertisements wants to see thread titles "Man rapes 1 year old baby" or "Mother shoots kid in the face"

keep those threads contained in a singular pinned thread in The Lounge and call it a day.
I have so many more ideas but no one listens to me. It's so annoying these are good suggestions.
