It's the opposite of The Fame
The Fame was light, fun, dance and happy
TFM is dark

It is, at least for a pop album. Anyone that says no is living in delusion.
The lyrics are mostly dark, I mean, "I want your horror, I want your desease" alone...
Production-wise, the only non-dark songs are So Happy I Could Die and Telephone. Songs like Teeth and Dance In The Dark are clear examples.

dark for a pop album, i'd say.
it's not entirely dark, but it's dark enough.
