The show's executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins announced the change at Student Pride in London.
He admits the writing process hasn't started yet - that he needs to find the right actor and the right character first.
He said "We try and do our research and get it all in our heads - the way we want to go because we want to tell the story properly. Also I would want to cast a trans actor as well. You have to - you have to cast a trans actor, but you also don't want to mess up the story because EastEnders reaches so many people and a lot of our audience are quite traditional."
He added "The power of EastEnders is we can change the world a little. You can change it gently and influence people who would be maybe quite bigoted."
My friend thinks it's Bobby & that Jane helped cover it up by dumping Lucy's body at the common because it's been confirmed Lucy was actually killed at home.
I wanted to watch the full week and planned to when I found out about live week back in Jan. but I forgot eventually. oh well, Eastenders seems to have gone down hill since 2010. Now after all the changes, I see that Jane has returned. Trying to get some normalcy back.
Who Killed Lucy Beale? My money’s on Jane – but with a twist
Following the discovery that Lucy kept a stash of cocaine in her jewellery box, Jane flipped out.
She flipped out even more when, later that night, she discovered that little Bobby had got his hands on Lucy’s drugs. After catching Lucy having sex with Lee earlier that day, Jane sent Lucy a text saying she needed to talk to her. Jane thought Lucy was going off the rails and her intention was to talk some sense into her.
Instead, Lucy wound Jane up by laughing at her and saying that Bobby wasn’t even her real son and she was just a barren old woman – or something else lovely along those lines.
Jane lost her temper and flung the jewellery box at Lucy, causing her to fall down and knock her head.
(Remember one of the clues was the music box being the last thing Lucy heard?)
Wait not a Eastenders thread on ATRL, never thought I would see the day .
I can't call who killed Lucy anymore. There are so many red herring in this story. I can't believe she was killed in her house like WTF? Would any of Beales be so sinister to move her body and dump her on the Common. I am so excited for the reveal.
