Just because it doesn't offend you as an individual doesn't make it not offensive. I'm not personally offended by it, but I still understand that it is offensive to use a persons's trait (being gay) as a synonym for bad or stupid. When someone says "that's so gay" as a way to call something dumb or annoying, they are implying that being gay is a bad thing, whether they mean to or not. So yes, it is an ignorant, offensive statement, even if neither you nor I are personally offended by it.

I always feel offended when someone calls me gay (well that hasn't happened since forever), because I know that they used the word in an attempt to offend me and considering I was in the closet and scared of it, yeah it really used to hurt me a lot. The battles that I had with my self and my thoughts were more than enough, I didn't need any assholes traumatizing me even more especially when they were "my friends".

Duh, but depends on the context though.

Not everyone agreeing that it's offensive is probably why young teens are getting called "gay" at school and no one thinks it's a problem.

I mean, I'm completely out to my friends and one of them said "that's so gay" when she was talking about one of the uni courses and it as like ohhhhh, but no i'm not offended.

I go hard face anytime anyone uses the word "******" or "gay" in a negative manner.

One time an acquittance told me "that's so gay" regarding a nickname a friend of ours used in a game and I told her, "What does that even mean? Is there another nickname of the same gender that's dating his nickname?" girl went quiet.

And if anyone ever tells me "you're so gay" I quickly reply "Is that supposed to be offensive? Aren't you a little bit too grown up for that?" or "Thanks for the compliment!" depending on the context.
